昆明君乐酒店

Stayed on the executive floor (room 1811). The room is small for China (but I was told that Kunming is different) but modern. It was similar to room on other floor which are Y300 cheaper but it is better equipped, with free internet and use of the Executive Club. It is expensive but, as mentioned before, the best in Kunming. One warning --- the traffic in Kunming is BAD BAD BAD. Taxi drivers do not know their destinations and sometimes go round and round aimlessly. Remember to go to the Departure level to catch a taxi as the queue on the Arrival level can be long and painful. The taxi fares into the city centre is from Y22 to Y30, depending on the traffic. More than that, yell and complain.
