文冠饭店地处山上，自然环境得天独厚。但是，现场管理很差。广场草坪疏于管理，地面经常见到垃圾。可能是停车面积足够大的缘故，停车无人管理，随便停。到了前台，服务生态度生硬，面无表情。当核对订房信息，酒店表示不能如约加床时，态度显得很不耐烦。最后还是把我们错安排到无星级的东楼。我们跟服务员反映东楼阴面房间有霉味，服务员回答阴面房间潮湿，都这样。还好，阳面有空房，换到了阳面。我们住的是225房，房间地面的角落明显没有打扫，灰尘很多。卫生间马桶上方漏水，方便时需要打伞。床垫中间是塌陷下去的，是那种明显感觉得到钢丝和弹簧的劣质床垫。房间没有通风系统，只能开窗通风。自助早餐充其量是如家的标准。

We stayed at the Wenguan hotel with my parents in law. The hotel is in a nice location, though far from the city centre, the surroundings are beautiful and the air is fresh. However I was embarrassed (for our guests) that we had to pay 4-star prices (628 rmb/night) for our rooms, which was far from 4 stars by Beijing standards. When we arrived the bathroom had not been cleaned (trash in the trash can, used hand soap), and when we asked them to clean there was no water involved in the cleaning, just an emptying of the trash and supplying new towels and soap. The carpets in the rooms were absolutely disgusting, however the bed linnens were clean. The hotel is a typical Chinese standard hotel, and they have the necessary facilities, cable TV etc. I didn''t mind staying there for one night, and I had been warned that hotels in Chengde are bad, but I did feel it was way overpriced. I wish they would follow a system for hotel rating, so that 4 star hotels in Chengde would be similar standard to 4 star hotels in Beijing.
