Not much good to say about this hotel I''m afraid. I was hoping for a hutong style stay, but instead this is a modern building with only some traditional chinese touches, if you take the traditional style rooms that is. Why a bad review? Well, to start with, they messed up our ctrip booking (two "traditional" B style rooms) and gave them away obviously. we ended up in shoebox sized rooms, overpriced with dirty floor and a 1 sqm bathroom. No decoration on the walls and cheap furniture, not even the standard tea and cups on the room, for 300 rmb each!! The next day we could move into our B-style rooms, which are a way better deal concerning their price, size and decoration. We were on the 5th floor (so much for old type hutong style house...) and the wireless didn*t work up there anymore. The bathroom were just about the same size than the "cheap" rooms. The service at the desk is bad, even when speaking chinese - they are very disorganized. I have been living in China for 6 years now, went to Beijing this time right after coming from Yangshuo/Guilin, where we had a beautiful - really old style - hotel and fantastic service for less money. Yes, I know, Beijing hotels are (way too) expensive and the service standard is still behind most of the country''s other tourist spots, but I was more than disappointed about service and personnel in the capital again. One thing positive: the hotel is just off the "new" nanluoguxiang bar and shopping street, which is a great thing. Downpart is that no taxis can enter the hotel premises easily - you need a clever and willing driver to meet you at the hotel entrance - or walk for five minutes to get to the next street crossing.Final verdict: I wouldn*t go there again.

this place is well located only if you do not use taxis. many of them even if they manage to read the address won''t take you there as it"s inside the hutong; The staff is not very friendly, they don''t really understand english but that"s rather common . an advice: if for instance something does not work (like the internet) or if there is no blanket and you wantt things to be fixed "yes I know I''ll fix it later you go back in your room" seems to be the standart answer but ther is a magical sentence " okay, I want my money back" and things are fixed within 5 minutes. The rooms are ok, no fridge, small baathroom but suffcient; The positive side: this place is very quiet and located about only 30 minutes walk from the forbidden city.
