Well-located hotel with charm
The hotel was well-located next to the old quarter and near the Humble Administrator''s Garden and Lion Park. We enjoyed staying in the converted historic property. It offered all the amenities and was spacious. On the whole it was clean, but the shower tended to splash onto the rest of the bathroom floor because the shower curtain was not long enough. We ate the hotel breakfast once; it was unremarkable and expensive for what it was. Avoid it if you can. There are many restaurants in the neighbourhood, of various levels, as well as many food carts offering local delicacies. The service was good on the whole, but when we asked about a car for the next to drive us to our next location, we were told that the hotel would look into it for us and let us know. In fact, at the end of the day, they had done nothing and disavowed any knowledge of our request. The lady we spoke to had gone off-shift and the responsibility was shifted to her. No apologies for dropping the ball. It meant that at the last moment we had to scramble to arrange a car. Thankfully we were able to do so ourselves, but the hotel''s lackadaisical service ruined an otherwise pleasant experience. It was also very difficult to find the hotel as all our taxi drivers had difficulty, even with the provided map.

老宅不错
老宅子不错，整体装修完全保留旧时的风格，二楼客房的顶即是瓦顶，有个小小花园，颇有曲径通幽的感觉。因为看介绍特价客房和普通标间是一样，入住才发现是间狭长的厢房，和照片完全不一样，不过室内设施还行吧，基本该有的都有了。木头地板明显年纪大了，咯吱咯吱的，入住时客人不多，估计旺季会有点隔音的困扰。出门就是平江路，去博物馆和几个名园子都是步行可达，过了临顿路就是观前区域，进出、餐饮都非常方便。总之，能体会老苏州普通人家的生活和现代小资的结合的好方位。离火车站不远，不过早晚高峰打车非常困难，且路况拥堵，一定要注意预留交通的时间，不过这是老城区的通病啊。。。
